Skycart invited to participate in 2024 Tokyo GX project for green innovation

Skycart to participate in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Green Transformation (GX) Project, under its support program for GX-related foreign companies. This initiative recognizes global innovators contributing to decarbonization and sustainable urban development.

Skycart is selected for its advanced multi-delivery drone platform, which allows multiple deliveries in a single flight—reducing the number of trips, energy use, and carbon emissions. This innovation directly supports Tokyo’s push for low-emission, efficient logistics in dense urban areas.

As part of the GX Project, Skycart will target key sectors such as healthcare, enabling fast and eco-friendly delivery of medical supplies, and e-commerce, offering a greener alternative to gas-powered last-mile delivery. Skycart’s drones also have potential applications in disaster response and environmental monitoring, supporting Tokyo’s resilience and sustainability goals.

Participation in the program provides Skycart with regulatory guidance, business matching, and opportunities to collaborate with local partners. It marks a major step in expanding Skycart’s footprint in Japan and contributing to Tokyo’s and Japan’s broader carbon neutrality objectives.

Skycart signs MoU with Kisumu County to launch drone-based medical deliveries in Kenya

In December 2021, Skycart signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kisumu County Government in Kenya to pilot drone-based medical deliveries. The initiative aims to enhance healthcare access by using drones to transport vaccines and medical samples to remote areas.

The MoU was officially signed by Governor Prof. Anyang Nyong’o, marking a major step toward integrating drone logistics into the region’s healthcare system. By enabling centralized lab testing and rapid delivery via drones, the program seeks to streamline operations and reduce dependency on multiple lab facilities.

The pilot is expected to improve delivery speed, reduce operational costs, and support better health outcomes across Kisumu County. Training for local drone pilots was planned to begin in early 2022, with system deployment targeted by the end of that year.

This strategic partnership highlights Skycart’s commitment to deploying innovative, sustainable technology to bridge healthcare gaps—particularly in underserved and hard-to-reach communities.
